Brenda Stubbert's Reel - Scottish Session at the Royal Mile Posted by: 3rdDerivative
Video duration: 111 seconds Frances and Basil from the NIH orchestra invited me out to a session with the Potomac Valley Scottish Fiddle Club at the Royal Mile. It's a lovely place out in Wheaton, MD and this was the first time I've actually played in a session. Because they were all scottish trad tunes I didn't know them too well so I did my best to harmonize (wasn't too successful). My friend Brian took this video. This is very beautiful and inspiring! I've started learning this instrument a few days ago, though mine's only a cheap plastic one, not such a beautiful one as yours! X) Thanks for playing for us, I'm subscribing!

By: lozer13. on 26 Sep 09, 06:57:47
That has a beautiful sound to it. The wooden flute (or fifes) always have such a cooler sound than the metal ones have. With a little more practice thats going to sound so beautiful, keep up with that :)
